What size do you need?
Where space has limited the use of a 30 x 30 cm sign may be the only option. But where space is not a problem, we would always recommend at least 60 x 60 cm as it provides the necessary visual stimulus to effectively manage traffic. For municipal roadways/highways, at least 75 x 75 cm is required to meet MUTCD requirements.

What material do you need?
Aluminium is the most popular choice as its durability and rust-proof property makes it ideal for a wide variety of applications outdoors. Steel is the most durable, as it won’t bend if hit or vandalized. Plastic is ideal for your parking lot and all indoor applications. Vinyl is also available for smooth clean surfaces indoors.

Reflective or non-reflective?
Choosing where you need a reflective coating or not comes down to the availability of good consistent lighting. For all outdoor applications, we would always recommend using Engineering grade as it provides up to 500 feet of visibility in nighttime conditions. For indoor where lighting is optimal and visual distractions are minimal, then a non-reflective coating makes for a good choice. However, if the contrary is true, then make it safe by electing to create a visual impact with a reflective coating. For MUTCD compliance, high-intensity reflectivity is required which gives 1000 feet of visibility. Diamond Grade has the best reflectivity and gives 1500 feet of visibility at nighttime.

What are the best practices for Mounting and placement?
When mounting the sign be sure the top of the sign is mounted flush with the top of the post and allow a 1″ gap between any supplemental signs. Supplemental signs should be no less than 4ft from the road surface. Be sure the sign is no less than 6ft from the edge of the pavement. The bottom of the signpost should be no more than 7ft from the road surface in urban areas and 5ft in rural areas.
